The Cayman Islands Government Ministries for Education and Youth have joined in support of Junior Achievement of the Cayman Islands by becoming the programme’s latest Corporate Ambassador.

The Minister for Education, the Hon. Rolston Anglin said he was pleased to support the youth of Cayman through the Junior Achievement programme and help them explore their personal potential.

“Junior Achievement dedicates itself to youth development, financial literacy and workforce readiness,” he said. “By partnering with Junior Achievement we hope to help create and inspire tomorrow’s leaders.”

The Minister for Youth, the Hon. Mark Scotland said he hoped the government’s sponsorship encouraged other businesses to pledge their financial support to Junior Achievement and to get behind this important organisation.

“By becoming a Corporate Ambassador you can become a vital role model – inspiring Cayman’s youth to succeed, believe in themselves and empower them to make a difference in the world,” he said. “The JA programmes provide our youth with skills they can utilize throughout their lifetime.”

President of Junior Achievement of the Cayman Islands, Mr Paul Byles said Junior Achievement’s unique approach allowed volunteers from the business community to deliver JA curriculum while sharing their experiences with the students.

“Junior Achievement’s unique hands-on programs are brought to life by volunteers from Cayman’s dedicated business community,” he said. “Business leaders can provide support in many ways and we invite interested organisations to contact us to find out how they can become involved.”

Junior Achievement is celebrating its 20th Anniversary in the Cayman Islands in 2012.  It is supported by many corporate sponsors including its eight Corporate Ambassadors: HSBC, Rotary Central, Dunkin’ Donuts, Caledonian Global Financial Services, Maples & Calder, BDO, Cayman Islands Government and Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce.  For more information about becoming a Corporate Ambassador, please e-mail Paul Byles through Junior Achievement at [email protected].
