The Publisher’s favourite spot

IMG_0584webaJoan Wilson, Publisher of iNews Cayman, doesn’t have to go very far to find her favourite spot on Grand Cayman.

It is in her garden in George Town just off the West Bay Road. Her joy is gardening and tending to the many flowers and shrubs she has nurtured from mere saplings.

From around 10:30am until 1pm you will normally always find her there. If it’s not weeding and watering, or even planting even more shrubs, she is sweeping up the IMG_0583webaleaves that have fallen from the many trees that grace both the front and rear portions of her garden.

She always finds time to sit with her beloved dog and protector, Sugar, under the shade of the trees to survey the beauty that God has created. I say Sugar her protector because woe betide anybody who comes unannounced into her garden, especially if Joan is present, and doesn’t indicate to the dog that all is well.

IMG_0584webaWhilst most of the time Sugar will allow strangers into the front part of the property it is a different story if they want to come up the staircase to reach the second floor. If Joan or her husband, Colin, is not on hand, you won’t make it!

“God has blessed me with a beautiful home and my garden is where I give him thanks,” she said.
