Love the Boston Red Sox? This cruise is for you

Even fans of the Boston Red Sox now have their own cruise.

The 2014 Red Sox Fan Cruise, as it’s being called, will kick off Jan. 12, 2014 in Fort Lauderdale and include stops in Cozumel, Mexico; Grand Cayman; Falmouth, Jamaica; and Labadee, a private beach area in Haiti.

The seven-night trip will take place on Celebrity Cruises’ 2,886-passenger Celebrity Silhouette and include appearances by former Red Sox players and such activities as a Red Sox Karaoke Night and a beach party.

The cruise is part of a recently announced partnership between the Boston Red Sox and Celebrity that also is bringing a Celebrity presence to Red Sox games. As part of the partnership, Celebrity also is holding exclusive events at Boston’s Fenway Park featuring appearances by former Red Sox players.

Celebrity is hoping to raise awareness among Bostonians of the cruises it operates out of Bayonne, N.J. The port is within a four-hour drive of Boston.

Celebrity this year is offering round-trip bus transportation from Boston to the port of Bayonne for passengers on summer sailings to Bermuda.

More information on the Red Sox cruise is available at the team’s website at http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/bos/fan_forum/celebrity_cruises.jsp
