There doesn’t seem to be a light at the end of the tunnel when it comes to the PSN controversy. After Sony reverted its plans to force players to connect a PSN account to the game, players in 177 countries are still unable to purchase the game after having access restricted due to PSN services not being available.

Despite being a week ago, there has not been an announcement on when the restrictions will be lifted, and it only seems to be getting worse as three new countries have been added to the extensive list.

Despite the countries being restricted a week ago, there seems to be no resolution in sight, meaning that players in these 180 countries are unable to purchase Helldivers 2. However, existing owners in these countries can still play the game. It isn’t just Helldivers 2 that this PSN controversy is affecting, with the upcoming Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut also requiring a PSN account from launch, meaning that players in the same countries listed above are unable to purchase the game. Players who had pre-ordered Ghost of Tsushima in these countries prior to the PSN controversy have had their purchases refunded.

Currently, Helldivers 2 players are taking part in the next Major Order, which calls for the eradication of 2 billion Automatons, but so far are underperforming, which could lead to the second failed Major Order in a row. To help reach the goal, we highly recommend checking out our Helldivers 2 best weapons guide and best armor guide so you can be in the best position to bring democracy and do your part to complete the Major Order.
