The event, which features a four-man scramble format with a shotgun start, will be held at the North Sound Club. Tee-off times are at 8 a.m. and 1 p.m.

“RBC is pleased to announce its renewed commitment as a title partner of this annual tournament. Our strong partnership with CIRC over the years, demonstrates our dedication to the development of the Cayman community,” said Mr. Michael Munnings, Country Manager and Area VP, Personal Banking, RBC Royal Bank, Cayman Islands. “We encourage participation as each year this event offers fun for all, while raising money toward a worthy cause. We are also grateful for all the volunteers who ensure that all aspects of the tournament run efficiently,” Mr. Munnings added.

One of the largest fundraisers for The CIRC, the money collected from the event will directly benefit the four main program areas of the Cayman Islands Red Cross: Disaster management, First Aid and CPR training, HIV and AIDS Education and the Thrift Shop, as well as volunteer development. Each of these components is critical to the nation’s safety. Additionally, hole sponsorships are available at a rate of $300 and provide the opportunity for visibility to all who attend the tournament and visit the CIRC web site.

Recognizing the importance of the CIRC’s work, a number of businesses have joined lead sponsor RBC Royal Bank, and will serve as supporting sponsors of the 2015 Golf Tournament, including, Car City, GT Automotive, Vampt Motors, Eurocar, Fosters Food Fair, and Mise-en-Place (Gino’s Pizza).

Moreover, the tournament offers participants the opportunity to win an array of prizes, including a 2015 MY Subaru Forester, donated by Eurocar; a 2015 MKC Lincoln, donated by Vampt Motors; a 2016 MINI Cooper “5 Turer” donated by GT Automotive and a 2015 Honda Civic- LX donated by Car City.

Special prizes will also be awarded for other categories, such as the player who hits the ball closest to the hole and the golfer who wins the putting contest. All prizes will be presented at the awards ceremony following the golf tournament.

“For over 50 years, the Red Cross has supported families and individuals in the Cayman Islands,” said Mrs. Jondo Obi, Director of the Cayman Islands Red Cross. “The funds raised at this event are instrumental for us to continue to offer the various educational/awareness community programs, establish community emergency response teams and ensure that individuals and communities are better prepared to withstand any disaster or emergency. We are extremely grateful for the support of RBC Royal Bank and that of all of our sponsors and volunteers.”

Mrs. Obi further explained that opportunities still exist for individuals or organizations who wish to sponsor the CIRC Golf Tournament. “With the increased cost of hosting the tournament, we’re counting on the support of local businesses,” said Mrs. Obi. “Hole sponsorships are still available at various prices. Sponsorships include the display of your company logo throughout the tournament and also on the Red Cross website for up to a year.” Limited player spots are also available per individual or for a four-person team.

“One hundred percent of the money raised through this tournament stays in the Cayman Islands and goes directly toward supporting the incredible work of the Red Cross,” said Mr. Shane Storr, RBC Royal Bank, Business Banking Account Manager. “We encourage all businesses and community members to consider participating in the event.”
