The motto of Sis. Frieda Blake is “Preach the Gospel Always, and if Necessary, Use Words”.  She is a soft-spoken humble lady who is known for her kindness and compassion.  Her list of active involvement in evangelistic efforts is difficult to compose, simply because she lives the gospel!  While working in customer service, individuals would voluntarily lengthen an already long wait in order to be served by her.  She always treats persons with courtesy and respect, and willingly goes the extra mile to ensure that needs – and often desires, are met.

Frieda and her husband, Albert, have taken in numerous persons to their home for various time periods when those persons have been in need.  Their home has also been opened to host Bible studies, small groups, children’s Sabbath School, healthy cooking demonstrations, and more.

On any given day, Frieda, now retired, can rarely be found at home.  She is out in the community.  Whether it is giving Bible studies, or taking an elderly person on errands, she is constantly busy.  Whenever there is an organized evangelistic campaign in her district, she is always active on the Bible worker team.  Although she does keep track because she feels that “numbers aren’t that important” over 30 persons has been baptized as a direct result of her giving Bible studies.  She also worked in the Family Life Enrichment Series and was instrumental in seeing another 25 persons give their lives to Christ.

Frieda has served her local church faithfully and diligently over the past five decades.  She has filled roles such as Missionary Volunteer (now Advent Youth) Leader, Community Service Leader, and Interest Coordinator.  She currently serves as an ordained Elder, Children’s Division Leader and Teacher, and Worship Team Member.

Above all and beyond these varied efforts, Frieda’s most closely held evangelistic role has been in her home with her children and grandchildren.  She has always taken this responsibility seriously, and as a testament to this, her three daughters are active followers of Christ.  Her dearest hope is that she will hear, “Well done, good and faithful servant,” while surrounded by those she loves.
