Olympic Day 2013 is Sunday (23)

2e1ax_polish_entry_olympic600Get ready sports fans!  It’s that time of the year again, Olympic Day 2013!  This year we will be hosting a full day of events on Sunday, June 23rd at Public Beach in celebration of the Cayman Islands Olympic Committee’s (CIOC’s) 40th Year Anniversary!

In the past Olympic Day has solely been a 5K Run/Walk in the Cayman Islands, but this year we have invited our National Sports Federations to showcase their sport and engage the community.  If you are interested in actively participating in an event, check out Golf at 12pm or register for the 5K Run/Walk.

Cay-Fan merchandise will be available for purchase from 4pm – 6:30pm.

On 23 June each, Olympic Day is celebrated all around the world: hundreds of thousands of people – young and old – get moving and participate in sporting activities.  The event is hosted to promote participation in sport regardless of age, gender or athletic ability. Over the last two decades, the event has helped to spread the Olympic ideals to every corner of the world. The CIOC has hosted this event for several years and every year it has become a bigger success.
