The Cayman Islands are known as the Caribbean destination of choice for foodies and now that experience is coming to Oakville.

The Cayman Islands department of tourism along with Metroland’s WEST of the City magazine are bringing a luxurious dining experience to Oakville’s Oliver’s restaurant on Thursday, Sept. 20.

Oliver’s chef Surinder Kalsi will be joined by other renowned Canadian chefs Dale MacKay and Paul Rogalski to create an unforgettable four-course dining experience with wine pairings. The evening will also showcase swimwear fashions by designer Tosca Delfino.

“People should come to this dinner if they want an amazing dining experience unlike any they’ve ever had before and if they’re interested in meeting two of Canada’s top chefs,” said Holly Crawford, editor-in-chief of WEST of the City.

And, of course, an exclusive, fine-dining experience would not be complete without an equally unique giveaway. In this case, the door prize will see one guest receive tickets to Chef Eric Ripert’s fifth annual Cayman Cookout, known as the Caribbean’s premiere epicurean event.

Not only will guests get to eat meals prepared by celebrity chefs, they will also be able to rub shoulders with another pair of celebrities, the dynamic design duo known as Colin and Justin.

Both Colin McAllister and Justin Ryan will be guests at the local cookout.

MacKay, winner of Top Chef Canada 2011, was invited to cook at the Oakville event because he will be one of eight chefs joining Ripert at the Cayman Cookout 2013, which runs from Jan. 17-20. Rogalski, of Rouge Restaurant, on the other hand participated in this year’s Cayman Cookout event.

To celebrate WEST of the City’s 10th anniversary, the local magazine has partnered with the Cayman tourism department for a number of promotions, including this dining event.

Oliver’s is located at 141 Lakeshore Rd. E. The dinner begins at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets cost $175 per person. Seating is limited.
