Officers on early morning anti-burglary patrol arrest five on drug-related offences

Just before 2:30AM on Sunday, 12 June, two uniform police officers on anti-burglary patrol along South Church Street came across a man behaving in a suspicious manner on a condo complex near Smith Cove. Officers spoke with the man, whose answers and demeanor led them to search his person. During this search a quantity of a white powdery substance resembling cocaine was discovered. Other items on his person led officers to an apartment at a nearby complex, where a further search was conducted. Four people were in the apartment.

During the search, further quantities of vegetable matter resembling ganja and white powdery substance resembling cocaine were discovered. All five people were arrested on suspicion of possession of Ganja/Cocaine, as well as the further offences, as listed below.

A man, age 24, of George Town, on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Ganja/Cocaine, suspicion of consumption of controlled drugs and suspicion of possession of a drug utensil (in police custody);

A man, age 18, of George Town, arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply ganja/cocaine, and suspicion of the consumption of controlled drugs (on police bail);

A man, age 29, of West Bay, on suspicion of consumption of controlled drugs and suspicion of possession of a drug utensil (in police custody);

A man, age 40, of George Town, on suspicion of possession of a drug utensil and suspicion of possession of controlled drugs (on police bail);

A woman, age 26, of George Town, on suspicion of consumption of a controlled drug (on police bail).
