Mollie B visits the Cayman Islands

Mollie B, internationally renowned Polka music star and host of her own TV show which is aired on RFD TV visited the Cayman Islands aboard the cruise ship MSC Divina on Tuesday, January 28. At the dock to meet Mollie B was a contingent of local Polka music fans led by seafarer Mr. Rudy Powery.

Local polka music fans gave Mollie B and her family a warm Caymankind welcome and were thrilled to meet her in person. Greeting Mollie, Mr. Powery handed Mollie a gift  on behalf of the Cayman Islands and went on to mention his days at sea, when the popular music of the time was Polka which lifted the spirits of the ship’s crew especially when they were far from home visiting ports of call.

IMG_0011The “Mollie B Polka Party” airs weekly on RFD-TV.  The one-hour program features the nation’s top polka bands and a wide-variety of ethnic styles produced on location at music festivals from around the country. Music from bands she performs with—The Jim Busta Band and Squeezebox—are available streaming online and for purchase at various online outlets.
