Man arrested in Jamaica for CNB robbery

In a release from the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS) received on Wed (15) they confirmed that a 36-year-old man had been arrested in Jamaica in connection with the robbery at Cayman National Bank which occurred on 28 June 2012.

Officers from the RCIPS are working with the Jamaican authorities to secure his return to the Cayman Islands.

On the Go-Jamaica website on Thu they reported a Jamaican man was facing extradition to the Cayman Islands in connection with a bank robbery.

The report further said:

“Thirty-six-year-old Ryan Edwards fled to Jamaica following the incident.

“Edwards who was recently held by the police in St Thomas remains in custody.

“He was reportedly held with some of the loot from the robbery.

“Arrangements are now being made for Edwards to be extradited to face prosecution in Cayman.”
