Traffic was disrupted on Monday (5) November when a cargo trailer caught fire in Elgin Avenue near the entrance to Cricket Square at around 7am, near the new Government Administration Building.

The trailer belonged to a local landscaping company, Reliable Landscaping, and three fire engines responded to the emergency call. The fire spread onto the road and pavement.

The fire was put out at around 7:45am and Elgin Avenue was closed pending a National Roads Authority Assessment.

An investigation is going on by the RCIPS as to the cause of the incident.
