Introducing FILA+ with Lev Tanju at the Creative Forefront

(FILA Luxembourg S.A.r.L.) – January 12, 2024 – FILA introduces the launch of FILA+, a new line that represents the brand’s storied history in sportswear, reimagined through the lens of modern design. In tandem with this launch, FILA announces the appointment of Lev Tanju, founder of the acclaimed skatewear brand Palace, as the Creative Director of FILA+. His expertise will play a pivotal role in leading FILA+ into an exciting and promising future.

The inaugural FILA+ collection is an elevated take on sportswear, featuring a variety of apparel and accessories that combine high-quality materials with sleek, contemporary design. Drawing inspiration from FILA’s archives, FILA+ presents a fresh take on classic silhouettes with pieces that blend craftsmanship and authenticity suitable for everyday style.

Raised and influenced by the vibrant skate culture of London, Lev became a prominent name in streetwear after launching his brand in 2009. Lev will continue his role as Palace’s Creative Director. His collaborations with different brands and artists have shown his ability to connect with a wide range of audiences beyond just the skating community. This talent for bringing together diverse cultures is a key reason he was chosen to lead FILA+.

Lev’s role in the debut collection of FILA+ is the beginning of a new chapter of creativity and collaboration. Reflecting on his new position, Lev says, “FILA has such a rich and amazing history spanning over a hundred years. I was blown away by how vast the archive was, and loved all of it. The story of Pierluigi Rolando, his drive towards innovation and his groundbreaking advancements really inspired me. I was also fond of the whole Italian FILA team: they are extremely genuine and like a family.”

At the heart of FILA+ is the iconic F-Box logo, a symbol of FILA’s legacy. The updated logo boasts vibrant new colors, with green and a brighter shade of red against a white background, embodying the colors of the Italian flag. “For me, Italy stands for all things stylish,” adds Lev. “And I want FILA’s rich Italian heritage to be at the heart of FILA+.” This subtle yet powerful change honors FILA’s Italian roots while highlighting the brand’s commitment to authenticity and innovation.

This announcement marks a significant milestone for FILA, as it continues to redefine the boundaries of sportswear. Under Lev’s direction, FILA+ is more than just an extension of the brand – it’s a tribute to the spirit of innovation that has always defined FILA. “We are thrilled to welcome Lev as the Creative Director of FILA+.

The collaborative development with More Consulting and licensing partnership with 247 will see FILA+ distributed globally, focusing on a selection of major e-commerce platforms, local department stores, and key boutiques.

The first FILA+ collection will be presented to buyers in January 2024, followed by a public and media reveal through a campaign in June 2024.
