Miami, December 13, 2012 – HBO Latin America announced its programming for 2013, which includes the big screen hits, award-winning original TV series and other highly acclaimed productions. Blockbuster titles such as The Dark Knight Rises, Hunger Games, The Help, Brave and The Avengers, as well as the premiere of new seasons of HBO original productions Girls, The Newsroom and Veep, will headline HBO’s 2013 stellar programming. Other returning series include Game of Thrones, True Blood and Boardwalk Empire.

“As leaders in premium television, we continue to offer the best movies and documentaries as well as unique and exclusive series with top-of-the-line technology onscreen and through our SVOD digital platform. Series and Miniseries

Returning to HBO’s lineup with a third season is the Golden Globe® and Emmy® award-winning series, Game of Thrones, based on the bestselling fantasy books by George R.R. Martin. The mega-production chronicles the epic and deadly struggle for power among several families that has overtaken the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros. Who will take over the throne during season three? Could it be Robb Stark? Daenerys Targaryen? Jon Snow? Or will the cruel King Joffrey hold on to the throne?

Similarly, the highly acclaimed series Boardwalk Empire, created by Emmy® award-winning screenwriter Terence Winter of “The Sopranos” and produced by Academy Award® and Emmy® award-winning director Martin Scorsese, will also return for a fourth season. The series follows politician/gangster Enoch “Nucky” Thompson (Steve Buscemi) in the fascinating, and occasionally dangerous, Atlantic City of the 1920’s.

Returning comedy series include Girls, a refreshing chronicle following the adventures of four New York girlfriends in their twenties after college. Also coming back for a second season is Veep, centered on former Senator Selina Meyer (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), who becomes Vice President of the United States only to discover that the job is nothing like she expected.

Also returning for a second season is the original drama series The Newsroom, starring Jeff Daniels and created by Oscar® and four-time Emmy® award winner Aaron Sorkin, which takes a behind-the-scenes look at a high-rated cable-news program at the fictional ACN Network, focusing on the on- and off-camera lives of its acerbic anchor, their newsroom staff and their news-division boss.

After an intense fifth season, True Blood returns sexier and scarier than ever, mixing romance, suspense, mystery and humor for a wild and entertaining ride.

Enlightened, which is returning for a second season, follows the story of an ambitious executive at a global conglomerate, who returns to her fractured life after a humiliating public breakdown and is determined to lead a more enlightened existence. Treme, which returns for a fourth and final season, follows the people of New Orleans who continue to rebuild their lives, their homes and their culture in the aftermath of the 2005 hurricane.

HBO Films

HBO Films premiering next year is The Girl, starring Toby Jones as Alfred Hitchcock and Sienna Miller as Tippi Hedren, telling the story of the director’s obsessive relationship with his leading lady during the making of “The Birds” and “Marnie.”

Other HBO Films include Behind the Candelabra and Phil Spector. Behind the Candelabra, starring award-winning actors Matt Damon and Michael Douglas, highlights the on- and off-stage life of celebrated pianist Liberace. Phil Spector features Academy Award® and Golden Globe® winner Al Pacino as Phil Spector, the bewigged record producer who created the “wall of sound” in the 1960s but is now serving a prison sentence of 19 years to life for murder.
