Cayman: RF announces Conference on Digital Assets, Geopolitics & Emerging Tech

(Grand Cayman): The RF Group along with its event partners recently announced that the 19th annual RF Economic Outlook Conference will take place on June 8th, 2022 at the Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa under the theme Future Forces: World-Changing Ideas. Presenters include Dex Hunter-Torricke, Communications Executive for Facebook & Google, Keith Herman, Serial Tech Entrepreneur and Blockchain Expert, John Sitilides, Geopolitical & Geo-Economic Strategist & Shawn Kanungo, Global Disruption Strategist. Premier, Hon. Wayne Panton JP, MP will open the conference and the afternoon will feature a digital currency focused panel discussion around regulatory and operational incentives and the challenges for private sector organisations in blockchain and related technologies. The panel will be moderated by Tammi Sulliman, Director of Communications at Block.one.

“This year’s conference will explore such themes as the geopolitical forces impacting global powers, the future of work and hybrid work models, the future of investment and the rapidly expanding role of digital assets, and the future of technology and the emerging trends that will change how we live,” said RF Group President, Mr. Michael Anderson. “Over the last two years, the world has experienced unprecedented disruption in our day to day lives. Not only has the number of disrupted areas increased but the pace of change has been exponential. While these changes create significant risks, they also provide massive opportunities which we hope to highlight. ”

The event will be hosted simultaneously across three regions -The Bahamas, Cayman Islands and the Eastern Caribbean – through a hybrid model. Registration is now open and discounts are also available for members of accredited associations looking for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credits.

RFEO 2022 is appropriate for virtually all audiences, according to Mr. Anderson. “Whether you are government or business leaders, or simply individuals trying to create suitable strategies for the opportunities and risks that lie ahead, this year’s RF Economic Outlook promises to provide a full day of thought-provoking and exciting presentations that will leave you empowered to take on the future.”

“The world is undergoing rapid and seismic geopolitical changes that have entered the financial sphere.  Sanctions and other financial restrictions are being used as weapons in these hot and cold war,” shared Desmond Kinch, founder of Overseas Asset Management, long term sponsor of the conference.  “We are particularly looking forward to John Sitilides sharing his views and analysis of this complicated interaction between world powers at this year’s event.”

RFEO 2022 is proudly sponsored by the RF Group in partnership with Consolidated Water, CUC, Dart, Fidelity Bank (Cayman), Overseas Asset Management, Strategic Wealth Preservation and Vanguard Risk Solutions.  For full details on the speakers and registration, visit www.rfceo.ky

About RF Economic Outlook

The RF Economic Outlook was launched in 2003 as Cayman Business Outlook. The event, which began as a  half-day lunch, grew in popularity and eventually morphed into an all-day event attracting over 400 participants each year. In 2014, the conference rebranded as the Cayman Economic Outlook (CEO) and the following year, RF introduced the Bahamas Economic Outlook (BEO) to the Bahamian market.

Both events have served as platforms for predicting significant business trends for the year ahead. Global and local experts are engaged to provide a forecast of the key social, economic and political issues that impact the respective economies. Meanwhile, the event themes are carefully designed to address current global forces and how they impact those residing and doing business in the Caribbean region. RFEO is an accredited Continuing Professional Development (CPD) provider.
