Cayman: Police investigate Serious Assault incident in George Town

Just after 1:50PM on Thursday 22 June, police and other emergency services were dispatched to Shedden Road in the vicinity of Mary Street where it was reported that an assault incident had taken place involving a machete.

Officers from the Firearm Response Unit were dispatched to the location and were directed to the back of a building where a man was being treated by the Emergency Medical Services personnel for head injuries that he sustained during the incident. It was reported to the officers that a second man used a machete to inflict the injuries. He was transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital where he was treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries and later released.

The incident is being investigated by police and detectives are encouraging anyone with information to call the George Town Police Station at 949-4222. Anonymous tips can be provided directly to the RCIPS via our Confidential Tip Line at 949-7777, or via our website.
