Wolf of Wall Street Comes to Cayman

The infamous and reformed ‘Wolf of Wall Street’ Jordan Belfort will be the keynote speaker at the 2013 Cayman Captive Forum, which attracts almost 1,300 delegates annually to discuss key issues facing the captive insurance industry.

Jordan Belfort’s story is a wild ride of his $1 million per week earnings, the extravagant lifestyle that went with it and his eventual two years in jail for securities fraud, which translated well into a best-selling book and a major motion picture staring Leonardo DiCaprio and Matthew McConnaughey and directed by Martin Scorsese.

Despite the obvious negative side of his antics, Jordan’s message is inspiring. Recognising the pain caused by his antics and feeling the full scale remorse that goes with it, he has committed 100% of the royalties from the book and the movie to compensate investors the $200 million he wrongfully gained through his fraud schemes.

He now takes his message on the road, delivering presentations to large and mid-sized corporations about effective and ethical sales techniques and how to inspire organizational growth.

“Success in the absence of ethics and integrity is not success… it’s failure,” said Jordan Belfort.

Belfort has developed his own proprietary ‘Straight Line System’ that empowers company leaders and individuals to create wealth, abundance, and entrepreneurial success – all without sacrificing integrity or ethics.

Cayman Captive Forum Co-Chairs Erin Brosnihan & Seamus Tivenan are looking forward to “The Wolf’s” presentation on 4 December 2013. “Selecting the keynote speaker at our annual Cayman Captive Forum is an important decision. We want someone who is charismatic – someone with experience in business and someone with a fascinating story to tell,” said Tivenan. Brosnihan followed up: “Jordan’s brutal honesty about his mistakes and his efforts to repay his debts, alongside his obvious entrepreneurial nature, make him an ideal speaker. With the movie due out literally days before his Cayman presentation, we anticipate this creating quite a buzz about the Forum.”

Jordan Belfort has created the Jordan Belfort Foundation, a charitable organisation established to inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs in underprivileged communities to create economic opportunities that transform their own lives, the lives of their families and their communities.
