Wanted: 50 Runners for CI Red Cross’ “50 for 50”

The volunteers and staff of the Cayman Islands Red Cross are still working at full speed ahead to make sure that 2011 is in fact a year to remember. The CIRC’s golden jubilee, which has been marked throughout the year by a number of high profile events such as the Fabulous Fashions Fundraising Fashion Show in February, the Annual Golf Tournament and “Red, Gold and Soul” Gala in September, on top of the usual community programmes which the organisation delivers on a daily basis, will be closing out with one final bang: the Cayman Islands Marathon.

Kelly Holdings, the mastermind behind the annual CI Marathon, has partnered with the CI Red Cross and is offering the community a chance to get involved in this first class event while serving another good cause. “50 for 50” is the CI Red Cross’ plea to the community as it looks for 50 runners to represent the organisation in celebrating its 50th Year.

“We are looking for walkers, joggers and runners- individuals or teams- to tackle on the half, full or the relay on behalf of the Red Cross,” explains Jondo Obi, Branch Director. “This is really a fun event and we are hoping to get people of different abilities to represent the organisation out on the course,” she added.

For information or to sign up to participate in the “50 for 50”, contact the CI Red Cross directly at [email protected] or 949-6785 ext. 26.
