Volta Trucks, the leading and disruptive all-electric commercial vehicle manufacturer and services provider, has confirmed its attendance at the Solutrans event from November 21 to 25 in Lyon, EUREXPO, France (Hall 5 | stand B091).

Solutrans, one of the most influential events for the road transport industry, brings over 60,000 professionals and 900 exhibitors from across the commercial and urban vehicle sectors to showcase the latest innovations and technologies.

In just two years since the Volta Zero’s debut appearance at Solutrans in 2021, Volta Trucks has experienced remarkable growth and progress. Back then, the first Volta Zero demonstrator vehicle was showcased on a Petit Forestier stand. Fast forward to 2023, Volta Trucks will take centre stage at the show, proudly displaying a series production Volta Zero. Furthermore, visitors will have the opportunity to book a passenger test ride of the truck in the outdoor area of the show.

Essa Al-Saleh, Chief Executive Officer of Volta Trucks, commented: “France continues to be one of our key launch markets and has already seen several successful customer trials completed on the streets of Paris. We are keen to continue to engage with industry professionals, fleet operators, and logistics experts at Solutrans to showcase Volta Truck’s commitment to a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable future. Solutrans provides us with the perfect platform to demonstrate the benefits of electrification in the commercial sector and how Volta Trucks is leading the way.”

Volta Trucks will be presenting the all-electric 16-tonne Volta Zero. Designed specifically for inner-city distribution, visitors to the stand will have the opportunity to explore the Volta Zero and experience its innovative safety and design features up close. These include its low-entry cab for easy and safe access and a panoramic windscreen for 220 degrees of direct vision around the vehicle.

Volta Trucks experts will also be on the stand to answer any technical or performance-related questions and educate visitors about the Truck as a Service offering. Truck as a Service provides frictionless migration to electrification with access to an all-electric Volta Zero, all charging infrastructure, servicing, maintenance, and more, all for a single monthly fee.

At the event, at 09:30 CET on November 22nd, Carla Detrieux, Business Development Director, will discuss the impact of zero tailpipe emission vehicles on last-mile delivery. Alexandre Cleret, Head of Fleet Financing, will share his expertise on financing zero tailpipe emission trucks on November 23rd at 4pm CET. These panels offer valuable insights into the future of sustainable transportation providing attendees the opportunity to engage with industry leaders.

Notes to Editor

The Volta Zero is the world’s first purpose-built all-electric 16-tonne vehicle designed for urban logistics, reducing the environmental impact of freight deliveries in city centres. The Volta Zero is designed from the ground up with an operating pure-electric range of 150 – 200 kms (95 – 125 miles).

Safety is also at the heart of Volta Trucks, with the ambition to produce the safest trucks for our cities. The Volta Zero was designed for electric from the outset, which facilitates a step-change in vehicle, driver and pedestrian safety. Thanks to the removal of the internal combustion engine, the operator of a Volta Zero sits in a central driving position, with a much lower seat height than a conventional truck. This combination, plus a glass house-style cab design, gives the driver a wide 220-degrees of visibility, minimising dangerous blind spots.

Volta Trucks is also innovating with its Truck as a Service proposition that has revolutionised the financing and servicing of commercial vehicle fleets. Truck as a Service offers fleet managers a frictionless and hassle-free way to electrify their fleet by offering an all-inclusive service for a single, affordable, monthly fee. It provides access to an all-electric Volta Zero, with its charging infrastructure needs provided by world-leader Siemens, insurance through Europe’s premier insurtech broker, Qover, and servicing, maintenance, and training requirements, maximising the uptime and operational efficiency of the vehicle.
