Update: Road Re-Opened As Investigation Into Cayman Brac Fatal Collision Continues

Update:

Bluff Road in South Side West, Cayman Brac has now been re-opened to the public following an extensive on scene investigation that was carried out by the accident re-constructionists who attended from Grand Cayman, along with the CIFS Fire Investigators; both were assisted by officers of Cayman Brac Police Station.

Investigations will continue into the circumstances around this fatal collision. Due to the nature of the incident, a formal identification has not been made at this time.

Initial Release: 

The RCIPS and the CIFS are currently on scene at a fatal motor-vehicle collision involving a single vehicle that occurred just after 2PM today 8 March. The collision took place on South Side West Road in Cayman Brac.

The Bluff Road along South Side West, in the area of the public beach, is currently closed while officers are carrying out investigations at this time. The public is being advised to avoid this area if possible and to expect delays.

The RCIPS Traffic and Road Policing Unit’s accident re-constructionists have been activated and will be attending Cayman Brac from Grand Cayman to assist with the investigation.
