Cayman Free press announced on Sunday (25) that this was the last issue of the Observer on Sunday.

They gave the reason for discontinuing the free Sunday newspaper as, “it was delivered free of charge, but the logistics of doing so, with the varied individual readers’ preferences concerning that delivery, has made this difficult. Too, in most areas of the world, a Sunday newspaper enjoys the perks of a Sunday retail market, which we lack in the Cayman Islands. We also looked at our fluctuating population and potential security risks of placing newspapers on doorsteps of vacated homes, apartments and condos.”
