Joan Wilson

Seventy years and going strong
By Joan Wilson

A very fine gentleman our Dr. Merren is
For a dental surgeon he’s certainly a whiz
So helpful and kind to all around
No finer person can ever be found.

With loving thoughts for his fellowman
And for his patients he’ll do all he can
And when we’re there in his dental chair
We’re at his mercy and in his care.

Our painted lips are stretched so much
But no need to worry he’s got a gentle touch
With the suction pump working overtime
We’ve been there an hour but we’re feeling fine.

With our mouths wide open and he’s talking away
We’ll answer, “Gargle, gobble, um! Um!” What else can we say?
And whether it’s extracting a tooth or just filling one –
It’s certainly a relief to hear he’s done.
