The Editor speaks: God really is trying to save us

Joan Wilson on a deserted beach

A man stuck on a rooftop and flood waters rising

A fellow was stuck on his rooftop in a flood. He was praying to God for help.

Soon a man in a rowboat came by and the fellow shouted to the man on the roof, “Jump in, I can save you.”

The stranded fellow shouted back, “No, it’s OK, I’m praying to God and he is going to save me.”

So the rowboat went on.

Then a motorboat came by. “The fellow in the motorboat shouted, “Jump in, I can save you.”

To this the stranded man said, “No thanks, I’m praying to God and he is going to save me. I have faith.”

So the motorboat went on.

Then a helicopter came by and the pilot shouted down, “Grab this rope and I will lift you to safety.”

To this the stranded man again replied, “No thanks, I’m praying to God and he is going to save me. I have faith.”

So the helicopter reluctantly flew away.

Soon the water rose above the rooftop and the man drowned. He went to Heaven. He finally got his chance to discuss this whole situation with God, at which point he exclaimed, “I had faith in you but you didn’t save me, you let me drown. I don’t understand why!”

To this God replied, “I sent you a rowboat and a motorboat and a helicopter, what more did you expect?”

END

You have probably read the above story before but in view of all of us in this coronavirus epidemic together I thought it worth sending it out.

We are all in this together. Christians and other religious folk will pray for help from God. Non- believers will just hope.

All of us hope we will keep safe and it will end soon.

One thing is certain, we all must listen to the advice we are being given. It is the weakest link in the chain that will be our death.

The insane drinking on our beaches by the few has meant our beaches are now closed.

I firmly believe that the cause was the alcoholic beverages they were drinking not the fact they were on the beaches. The walking and the swimming is what we all need.

It was the beach areas where the bars are that the idiots were congregating in. Joan and I were on the beach outside the Governor’s on Good Friday (yes we both went in the sea to swim) and we were there one hour and you could count the other swimmers and the persons who passed us by as under TEN!!

See the attached photos above I took on Good Friday. Note how clear the beach is and yes it is Joan swimming in the sea.

I prayed for help to give Joan something pleasurable to do and those who know Joan’s history will acknowledge how she loved swimming and diving.

So what spurred me on to take Joan there? In that one spot? We haven’t done that in years.

After we had come home there were signs of the “old” Joan.

Unfortunately, the chain was broken. God’s help has been thwarted

Help will come again. None of us know what form it will take.

God uses all of us. He will not send Angels down in mighty golden chariots to gather us up and take us to Heaven, whilst Satan employs the idiots to send us to Hell, by fuddling their brains. However, Angels will come.

I applaud everything the Premier and his panel, including our Governor, have been doing. They can’t be right all the time. They allowed the alcohol to stay and the sea recreation to cease.

Like the man on the rooftop it can be difficult to realise how God is trying to save us.
