The best part of a bad day

By Paul McGowan From PS Audio

We all have good and bad days but it’s typically the bad ones that stand out like sore thumbs: our grand plans squashed, the project failed, everything that could go wrong did.

Those days where I am in a constant battle to stay above zero are days where I have been pulled out of my rut. We like to live in self-made holding patterns because their familiarity gives us time to rest from theswirl of changes that seem to surround us these days.

But, then, tomorrow comes. We’ve survived the worst of it, ventured out of our safe zone, been slapped around a bit, and in the process learned something new—even if it’s don’t do that again!

The hardest part of bad days is keeping a positive attitude of hope the next will be better.

With a HT to the poet Robert Burns: The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry. Which is a wonderful gift because the best part of a bad day is what we learn from the next.

I hope today goes well for you, but if you find yourself struggling, just remember we can’t go up without first having gone down.
