The 2016 Taste of Cayman countdown has begun!

The 28th annual Taste of Cayman Food & Wine Festival takes place on Saturday, 23 January 2016 at the Festival Green, Camana Bay. Tickets are now on sale for $35/person until 30 November at the CITA Executive Office located on West Bay Road. The ticket price will increase to $40 on 1 December until the day of the event when tickets will be $50/person. The morale of this story: buy now and save!

GIVING BACK…
Each year CITA donates part proceeds from the Festival to a charity. This year we have partnered with the Cayman Islands Crisis Centre, the island’s first and only organisation that provides emergency shelter and support services for victims of domestic abuse.

You will have an opportunity to donate to the Crisis Centre by handing in your unused food and drink tickets when you’re leaving the Festival. Part of the value of each food ticket will be donated to CICC.

The Taste of Cayman Food and Wine Festival is the largest fundraiser for the non-profit Cayman Islands Tourism Association (CITA). The festival is celebrating its 28th year in 2016 and has come a long way since its grass roots inception. This festival would not be possible without our generous sponsors each year. Volunteer for Taste of Cayman 2016
Taste of Cayman Food & Wine Festival is not only the premier culinary event of the year in the Cayman Islands, but it is also the largest fundraiser for the Cayman Islands Tourism Association (CITA). To make this event the effective fundraiser it has been over the past 26 years requires a tremendous amount of volunteers leading up the festival and on the event day. Due to the nature of the festival, volunteers MUST BE 18 YEARS OF AGE or older at the time of registration.

Pre-event assistance
“All Things Cayman” area assistant
Bartender
Barback
Information booth (“Ask Me”) Volunteers
Supply runner
Ticket sales/cashiers
Ticket takers at the entrance of the festival
Volunteer Headquarters Assistant
Photo booth operator

Can I choose which volunteer position I do?
We do our best to assign our volunteers to a position in which they have had prior experience and where they will be most happy! Due to the number of volunteers required in a variety of areas that need to be covered however, festival organizers reserve the right to schedule volunteers where they are needed most. If you have any restrictions that may limit your ability to work in a specific area there is a place on the registration form to communicate this.

What do I get for volunteering?
Volunteering your time to support Taste of Cayman is a fun experience where you can meet new people, and have a great sense of accomplishment when you finish your shift knowing that you supported Cayman’s tourism product! It’s also a great resume builder. In addition volunteers receive the following benefits:

– Orientation and training session (3 dates approximately one week prior to the festival date)
– Entrance to the festival (before or after your shift)
– 15 food tickets
– Volunteer t-shirt
– A Taste of Cayman Volunteers Thank You Party
