From Designer Daily

In Japan, rice straw is named “wara”, and people have been making art with wara for ages. After harvest, farmers and people from the countryside create sculpture and stuff with all the rice straw they picked up.

There is even a festival for this, the Wara Art Festival in Niigata. For the 2015 edition, visitors of the festival could admire some amazing dinosaurs and other animals that just seem to have emerged from the fields.

The sculpting technique is also pretty cool, starting off as a simple wood structure that is decorated with the rice straw. There are a few workarounds worth mentioning, like the use of straw hats for the dinosaurs eyes.
