A multiengine turbo prop plane crash-landed into two East Haven homes this morning (8) just after 11 a.m., NBC reports, and at least three people are unaccounted for. In addition to the pilot, two children thought to be inside one of the houses, a 13-year-old and a 1-year-old, remain missing. “Unfortunately, we haven’t recovered anybody at this point and we presume there is going to be a very bad outcome for two people reported to be in the house,” said the local fire chief. The mother of the kids reportedly escaped. “We are doing everything we possibly can for the mom, who is here with her priest and family,” said East Haven mayor Joseph Maturo.

The plane was headed for Tweed-New Haven Airport from Teterboro in New Jersey, according to the Hartford Courant.BRPO-96CIAMbdGQ.jpg-large

“The plane was burning slow and then it started really burning,” said a witness. “The fire engines arrived in like 10 minutes. They came real quick and they told us all to move. The house got really out of control.”
