Silver for Cayman thrower

alex-pascalCaymanian teenager, Alex Pascall, won the silver medal for his javelin throw at the Central American and Caribbean Games. He missed the gold medal throw by only 64 centimetres!

He broke his own Cayman national record to 71.85 metres at the games held in Morelia, Mexic.

The winner was Mexican Carlos Armenta who threw 72.49m whilst his team mate, Jose Lagunes took the bronze with a throw of 69.64m,

Only recently Pascal has been working with his Cuban coach Roberto Diaz, who will be here in Cayman until September.

Other Cayman competitors at the games were:

Tyrell Cuffy and Rhymiech Adolphus in the 100m

Carl Morgan in the long jump

None advanced further.

However, Cuffy, Adolphus, Morgan and David Hamil ran in the 4x100m relay, recording 40.27 seconds in their heat. This enabled them to reach the final where they finished eighth.
