A motorcycle and pick-up truck collided along Lawrence Boulevard today, 10 September, at approximately 1:20PM. The motorcycle rider sustained non-life threatening injuries to his back, and was taken to George Town Hospital and later released. The accident is under investigation.

Robbery at Convenience Store in West Bay

The man, age 17, from West Bay, arrested yesterday on suspicion of robbery has been charged with one count of robbery and one count of possession of an imitation firearm with intent to commit an offence.  The man appeared in court this afternoon.

Man Arrested on Suspicion of Wednesday’s Robbery in West Bay

Yesterday, 10 September, police arrested a man, age 17, from West Bay, on suspicion of committing the robbery that occurred at Deliza Grocery and Variety Store in West Bay just two days ago, on 9 September. Police also executed a search warrant on his residence which recovered the black scooter believed to have been used during the robbery. The swift operation was directed by West Bay CID and was coordinated among uniform officers and the K-9 and Air Operations Units.

At approximately 5:20pm yesterday afternoon, 9 September, a robbery was reported at the Deliza Grocery & Variety Store on Northwest Point Road in West Bay.  Two men in masks had entered the store and stolen an undetermined amount of cash, and then left the location on a black scooter bike.  One of the men had what appeared to be a silver handgun.  No shots were fired and no one was injured during the incident. Several police units, including the police helicopter, conducted an extensive search of the area but did not locate the scooter or the culprits.
