Registration drive initiated by Cayman Islands Election Office

Registering officers in the six electoral districts are urging all unregistered persons who qualify to be registered, to take advantage of the ongoing registration drive which continues each Saturday through to December 1st, 2012 from 10:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M. in all districts.  The final date for registration is January 2nd, 2013, after which no further applications will be accepted for individuals wishing to vote at the 2013 General Elections in May.

Persons wishing to submit their application forms directly to the Elections Office, Monday’s through Friday’s between the hours of 8:30 A.M. and 5:00 P.M.

All application forms must be accompanied by supporting evidence of qualification.  Registering officers would also wish to bring to the attention of all persons who are already registered but have changed their name, street address or occupation that pursuant to section 21 of the Elections Law they must within 3 months after such a change give notice in writing in Form 13 to the registering officer in the electoral district in which he or she is registered.  If the change of street address is within another electoral district the elector must also provide a copy of the said form to the registering officer in the new district.  Failure to comply with the Law will result in the elector being removed from the register of electors if he or she is no longer ordinarily resident in the district from which he or she has moved
