RBC Wealth Management, part of Royal Bank of Canada, has announced the executive appointment of Mike Moodie to the position of Vice President and Managing Director, Ultra High Net Worth, RBC Wealth Management – British Isles and Caribbean.

Moodie will work closely with, and jointly report to, Paul Patterson, deputy chairman, UHNW, RBC Wealth Management as well as Stuart Rutledge, head, RBC Wealth Management – British Isles and Caribbean, and will help lead the coordination and servicing of UHNW clients based in the British Isles and Caribbean.

The creation of this new role is the next step in RBC Wealth Management’s strategy to increase its focus on international UHNW clients, especially those from emerging markets who use London as a hub to service their wealth management needs.

Moodie, previously head of RBC Management – UK, will continue to be based in London and will take up his new role on 1 September 2013. Also effective from that date, Philip Harris, head of Private Client Wealth Management, UK, will join the British Isles and Caribbean Operating Committee, and report to Stuart Rutledge, Head, RBC Wealth Management – British Isles and Caribbean.

Paul Patterson, deputy chairman, UHNW, RBC Wealth Management said: “Mike has shown excellent leadership in strengthening the British Isles and Caribbean distribution capability and building an award-winning team of relationship managers in London over the last two and a half years.

“With over 28 years of service within RBC overseeing the development and servicing of (U)HNW clients, including senior leadership positions in Canada, the Caribbean, the US and the UK, we know that Mike is well placed for continued success in his new role.”
