Triple C Pre-Kindergarten Students Discovering the World of Travel

On Monday, April 27th, Triple C School Pre-Kindergarten students arrived to school ready for an adventure. Each student came ready to travel to their specific destinations range from Texas to Honduras with some dressing in the native clothes for their destination. With their imagination passports in hand the students was taken through the full travel process when traveling on a plane (checking in your luggage, meeting the immigration officers, and boarding the plan). The highlight for their adventure was being able to board the Cayman Airways Jet and meet the flight staff.

“One of the themes that we cover each year in the Pre-Kindergarten classroom is Transportation,” said Mrs. Antoinette Cowan, Pre-Kindergarten Teacher. “Our usual approach has always been to look at travelling by land, air and sea. This year we decided to focus on the use of our passports when we travel by air. We studied the passport and its importance and then made our own passports. The passport number in their passports had to be a pattern for example, 123123123. We integrated this because we were studying patterns at the time.”

“This was a fantastic experience. Just to see their faces light up throughout the entire experience was rewarding for us as teachers. Many of them said that this was the best day ever. At this young age learning is hands on. Instead of giving children the information, we need to provide the opportunity for them to explore learn and have fun. I am sure that this experience has made a lasting mark on their lives.”
