Police Investigate Robbery in George Town

From RCIPS

At about 1:30AM Sunday, 24 December, the 9-1-1 Communications Centre dispatched officers to a report of a robbery which had taken place on Courts Road in George Town. It was reported that a man and woman were seated in a vehicle alongside the roadway when three persons, two men and a woman, approached the vehicle. One of the men pulled the male victim from the vehicle and a struggle ensued. The male victim was stuck repeatedly, including with an object, and received injuries to his face and shoulder. The female victim was struck by one of the culprits as well. The culprits then entered the victims’ vehicle, which also contained cash and personal items, and drove off.

Police conducted enquiries and were able to track the stolen vehicle to another location nearby and recovered some of the stolen property in the area. The vehicle was secured by officers, however the suspects were not located.

The victims attended the Cayman Islands Hospital for treatment for their injuries.

One of the male suspects was wearing a black shirt and jeans pants, while the other was wearing a black mask. The female suspect is described as being of thick build and was wearing a light-coloured skirt.
