Police investigate possible firearm incident in Cayman Brac

At about 6:50AM today, 27 June, officers responded to a report of a potential firearm incident at an address in the vicinity of Watering Place, Cayman Brac. It was reported that the occupant of the residence heard a loud bang followed by one of the windows of the residence breaking. Officers attended and observed a projectile inside of the residence, which is suspected to have been fired into the window. The projectile is not a conventional firearm bullet, casing or marine flare. It has been recovered to be forensically processed as investigations continue. No one was injured during the incident.

The matter is currently under investigation and specialist officers from Grand Cayman are travelling to Cayman Brac to assist. Anyone who may have any information, or who may have seen anything suspicious in the area is asked to contact the Cayman Brac Police Station at 948-0331.
