PASTOR ANDREW BURROWS – ATLANTIC CARIBBEAN UNION

2013-08-28-at-23-38-58Posted by Kaneil Barrett From Cayman Adventist

The Atlantic Caribbean Union was blessed to have Dr. Erika Puni of the General Conference of Seventh Day Adventist and Dr. Javier Mejia of the Inter American Division during August 28-31, 2013. Both pastors were presenters for the ATCU Stewardship Congress hosted by the South Bahamas Conference of Seventh-day Adventist. This seminar was held especially for the benefit of the stewardship ministries directors of this Union. All of the conferences of the Atlantic Caribbean Union had representatives for these seminars.

For the opening night Dr. Erika Puni preached at The Living Faith Seventh-day Adventist church. He reminded everyone to be like Job, who remained a faithful steward despite the trials he was experiencing and as a result received twice the blessings than before.

DSC_0013During these meetings Dr. Erika Puni stated emphatically that as Seventh-day Adventist, we have to adapt to new ways of packaging our stewardship ministry in our changing world. He further stated that stewardship is more than being program driven. It must be one that is worship driven which will help to build our faith and keep us connected to Jesus. Stewardship, he emphasized must be the well- being of God’s people for it is a lifestyle that recognizes that Jesus is the lord of our lives, who strengthens and restores us to Him. Mark 12.30 affirms that we should love God with all our hearts, soul, mind, and strength. When we do this, we will experience total commitment to the work of God as faithful disciples and stewards.

On Sabbath morning, Dr. Puni preached from the noteworthy Grants Town Seventh-day Adventist Church and Dr. Mejia preached at The Living Faith Seventh-day Adventist Church, where one of the newly baptized members of the Spanish congregation translated for him. The program ended Sabbath evening at Grants Town Seventh-day Adventist Church. Dr. Puni made an appeal and prayer for the recommitment of God’s people to faithful stewardship.
