New service gives customers in the Caribbean & Latin America access to high-performance subscription based Cloud solutions.

WILLEMSTAD, CURAÇAO – October 25, 2012 – Curaçao Technology Exchange (CTEX), N.V., today launched the region’s most advanced cloud solutions. The service, is based on VCE™ Vblock™ Systems provided by VCE (a joint-venture between Cisco and EMC with additional investments from VMware and Intel) and ZUORA the world’s leading billing and subscription platform.

Starting today, customers can subscribe and deploy high performance cloud servers in a few clicks through the Internet and will only pay for resources consumed. CTEX_HyperCloud(sm) servers process workloads in less time than rival offerings using advanced CISCO UCS blades. Storage is secured using EMC’s leading high availability capabilities.

“Our Cloud services provide customers the opportunity to lower upfront capital expenditure on expensive computing infrastructure by leveraging high performance, secured servers and storage in the cloud. Customers can ‘buy’ enterprise-class solutions via our secured web portal. We will further broaden this infrastructure upon completion of ‘CU-1’, the first of CTEX’s advanced Tier-IV data centers” said Anthony de Lima CTEX’s Chairman and CEO.

In July 2012, CTEX, VCE and Zuora announced a strategic partnership to launch the first advanced cloud computing offerings in the intended market. “The unified platform provides us with the ability to deliver cloud solutions for SMB as well as large corporations and governments. Our goal is to deliver the most secure and scalable cloud solutions in the region, in either a private, public or hybrid model. Users can subscribe to services such as IaaS, BaaS and SaaS through a custom portal via www.ctexhypercloud.com. Customers can select from a variety of server options, operating systems and storage tiers and software services. To make this all a reality, CTEX, VCE and ZUORA for months integrated various platform and software layers,” said Albert Hammond, CTEX’s VP of Operations.

“VCE and Cisco are providing the infrastructure building blocks on which CTEX’s HyperCloud(sm) services are based,”  said Leon Taiman, VCE’s Regional Vice President – Caribbean and Latin American Markets.  “The innovative capabilities of Cisco Intelligent Automation for Cloud and VCE Vblock Systems allow CTEX to provide customers with on-demand and secure access to the industry’s most advanced virtual data center and cloud computing capabilities.  CTEX and VCE have a strategic alliance focused on cloud services for joint customers in the Caribbean and Latin American market.”

The CTEX_HyperCloud(sm) services use the Cisco Intelligent Automation for Cloud solution with VCE’s Vblock Systems which bring together leading server, network, storage and cloud infrastructure technologies from Cisco, EMC and VMware into a flexible and scalable converged infrastructure system. The combination of these technologies enables the automation of  complex cloud delivery processes.
