New members learn about Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce services and benefits

Seven new Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce member-companies recently heard details of the organisation’s dynamic services, and learned how to get the most mileage from their memberships at an information session on Friday, September 14th.

Indicative of the range of Chamber members, the September cohort included various business-sizes and -types, from education and tourism services, to media and office technology services.

These newest member companies, and the attending representatives, are Kirk Office (Carl Attim), Dolphin Discovery/Dolphin Cove (Latoya Couch and Sandra Calvert), Island Montessori (Jenn Cowdroy), EventPro (Jonathan Reyes), Cayman Islands Sailing Club (Rebecca Calvert and Denise Couch) and Vagabond Media (Monica Walton).

During the presentation, led by Chamber CEO Wil Pineau, CCE, attendees heard that small businesses form the core of the Chamber – almost 60-percent of the Chamber’s membership has ten or fewer employees. He also told them that they may attend professional development seminars, luncheons, courses and workshops (many free or at reduced rates).

Similarly, the networking opportunities range from major conferences and awards events, to the popular Speed Networking, Be-Informed and Business After Hours functions. They also benefit from the Discount Card Programme, and are allowed access to a range of networking, promotional, sponsorship and training opportunities.

Mr. Pineau added that the regular orientations for new or existing members serve to inform them of the many benefits, as well as the Chamber’s advocacy on major current issues.
