New Governor continues district visits

Gov Tour Aston Rutty CentreGovernor Helen Kilpatrick has wasted no time getting to know the Cayman Islands.

Last Thursday 12 September 2013, Mrs Kilpatrick flew to Little Cayman and Cayman Brac for a whirlwind tour of those islands, including sites of environmental, social and historic interest.

Among these were the Central Caribbean Marine Institute on Little Cayman, as well as Kirkconnell Community Centre, Faith Hospital and Heritage House on Cayman Brac.

The new Governor also took time meet with members of the public on both Islands.

Deputy Premier, Moses Kirkconnell, MLA, acted as her host during the tour.

District visits by the Governor continue through the month of September.

5.         An island welcome for the Governor –She arrived to a lively rendition of “This Land is my Land” by the boys and teachers of the Little Cayman Education Service.  Also joining the Governor and Acting Premier in the photo are District Commissioner Ernie Scott and District Officer for Little Cayman Larry Foster.

6.         Greeted by the friendly face of Elmer “Shorty” Ebanks upon her arrival at the Charles Kirkconnell International Airport.
