mammoet caribbean move 1 lowJanuary 28 – Mammoet has begun working on the construction of the Punta Catalina thermal electric power plant on the southwest side of the Dominican Republic.

Mammoet was contracted to supply 17 cranes, ranging in capacity from 100 to 750 tonnes, 20 units of auxiliary equipment, and a lifting and skidding system for the construction project.

Alongside the supply of equipment and personnel, Mammoet is also executing the transport of 28 oversize project cargoes over 50 km by road from the Port of Haina to the project site.

Mammoet has worked closely with local authorities to gain approval for the transport and manage all preparations en route, which included lifting overhead power cables and removing obstacles, as well as reinforcing five bridges and constructing a 100 m long temporary bypass over the river Nizao.
