Let your “taste” buds come alive in 2016!

Screen Shot 2015-08-13 at 11.01.57 AMTaste of Cayman Food & Wine Festival, the premier annual event organised by The Cayman Islands Tourism Association (CITA), will see its 28th year in 2016. On Saturday, 23rd January 2016, patrons will once again be treated to a sumptuous feast sure to tantalize every palate, as a wide range of restaurants will display their culinary skills. CITA has given back to the community despite being a non-profit organisation, through partnership with local charities. Although the festival is the major annual fundraiser for CITA, part proceeds of the 2015 event were donated to Cayman’s Acts of Random Kindness (ARK). Mrs. Tara Nielsen who spearheads the activities of Cayman’s ARK and received the cheque on behalf of the organisation said, “Acts of Random Kindness is sincerely grateful to CITA for partnering with us, and making an invaluable contribution to the Cayman community and those we support. We also thank all those who contributed on the night of Taste of Cayman in one way or another. Thank you!” Ms. Tiffany Dixon-Ebanks, Executive Director of CITA expressed the Association’s pleasure at having collaborated with the charity. “The Cayman Islands Tourism Association was very pleased to have partnered with Cayman’s ARK in order to assist with projects undertaken to help our community. CITA also extends thanks to festival-goers who were so generous in contributing their food and drink tickets to this worthy cause.”
Ms. Dixon-Ebanks went on to say, “We are honoured to announce that our Planning Committee has recently selected the Cayman Islands Crisis Centre as the charity of choice for the 2016 festival. We sincerely look forward to working with the Centre. We believe the organisation’s work to highlight the very real issue of domestic abuse is commendable and deserves support.”
