Sant’Agata Bolognese, 16 November 2020 – Lamborghini has unveiled the race calendars for its three Super Trofeo championships for the 2021 season. Running from April to October, the one-make category reserved for Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo Evos will be represented in Europe, North America and Asia, with the traditional end-of-year Lamborghini World Finals taking place at Misano Adriatico in Italy. Following its cancellation in 2020 after the outbreak of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, Super Trofeo Asia will make its return to the calendar next season with five rounds, while the World Finals remains at Misano, having been cancelled in 2020.

Super Trofeo Europe: 13th season kicks off at Monza

The Autodromo di Monza is once again confirmed as the opening round of the season, having originally been on the 2020 schedule. Taking place on the weekend of 16-18 April, the “Temple of Speed” offers the field of 620hp V10 Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo Evos to reach the highest average speed of the season (194.2 km/h), with action almost guaranteed.

From then, it’s onto the Circuit Paul Ricard in the south of France on the final weekend of May. The Castellet circuit has been a regular fixture on the Super Trofeo Europe calendar since the inception of the championship in 2009 and will again use the Grand Prix configuration of the track in 2021, before moving onto Zandvoort in the Netherlands.

Spa-Francorchamps has been on every Super Trofeo Europe calendar since 2009 and once again plays an important role in the success of the one-make championship. The unique challenge of the Ardennes circuit combined with the prestige and passion of the 24 Hours weekend makes this round a staple of the Super Trofeo calendar.

Nürburgring holds the penultimate round of the season on the opening weekend of September, with the trip to the Eifel Mountains followed by the final round of the year at Misano Adriatico, the precursor to the World Finals on the weekend of 28-29 October.

Super Trofeo North America: Laguna Seca the home for season opener

Having typically held the season-finale in recent years, Laguna Seca takes the opening slot of the 2021 Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America season. The picturesque Californian circuit, with its famous Corkscrew corner, has thrown up some of the most dramatic moments in Super Trofeo history in the past and it is sure to provide an exciting start to the new season on the final weekend of April (23-25).

The championship returns to the Circuit of the Americas outside Austin, Texas for the first time since 2017 for round two on the weekend of 21-23 May, before heading to upstate New York to the challenging Watkins Glen circuit over the 24-27 June. The iconic circuits don’t stop, as round four takes place at Road America in Wisconsin at the start of August before heading to VIRginia International Raceway two weeks later.

The championship then convenes at Misano Adriatico for the final two races, alongside the World Finals in October.

Super Trofeo Asia: Back in business

Following its cancellation in 2020, Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia will make its welcome return next year, with three races being held at Sepang in Malaysia to opening the season on the weekend of 18-20 June.

Buriram in Thailand is back on the calendar for the first time since 2018 for round two, held on the 2-4 July before a summer break ahead of one of the most demanding circuits in the world, Suzuka in Japan for round three. Suzuka hosted a pair of sensational races in 2019, with Gama Racing’s Chris van der Drift and Evan Chen just holding off FFF Racing’s Takashi Kasai and Juuso Puhakka in the closing stages of Race 2.

The championship has a real Asian feel to it with no one country hosting more than one round. Following the trip to Japan, the Shanghai International Circuit in China will hold the penultimate round on the 10-12 September, before the field join their European and North American counterparts in Misano for the World Finals.
