Kids Sea Camp: Grand Cayman

Kids CampBy David Espinosa From Sport Diver

In late July, I took my wife and two daughters — Chloe Mei (age 7) and Ella Lin (age 4) — to Grand Cayman for the second of two Kids Sea Camp weeks at Cobalt Coast/Divetech.

For six days my wife and I would scuba dive in the morning while our daughters joined the Turtle Group — for kids up to eight years old — in activities developed just for them: a trip to the Turtle Farm, beach-combing on 7-Mile Beach, snorkeling, SASY (an early introduction to scuba diving), and Stingray City.

To say they all loved the week would be a massive understatement — my daughters think it’s the best summer camp they’ve ever attended, and my wife started bugging me on the flight home for which adventure we would join next year.  (We’re looking at you, Utila!) It was the perfect place to get my wife back into scuba (she hadn’t dived for six years) and a great introduction to the warm waters of the Caribbean for my daughters.

Like most proud dads, I created a video encapsulating the adventures we had and good friends we made in one week at Kids Sea Camp. We hope you enjoy it. — David Espinosa, Brand Director, Sport Diver magazine
