Issues Paper presented in Cayman Islands on Bullying

Consultation Extension to 3rd June, 2016

The Cayman Islands Law Reform Commission submits for stakeholder and public comment an Issues Paper entitled “Bullying: Legislation, Policy or Both?”

 In the Paper, several issues are identified and questions raised with respect to the occurrence of bullying within the school environment. The aim of our examination is to determine whether a comprehensive strategy for addressing the incidence of bullying should be grounded in enacting appropriate legislation, formulating policies or a combination of both.

Accordingly, stakeholders and members of the general public are invited to make submissions on the issues and questions reflected in the Paper and to share any other information that may inform our research.

The Paper may be viewed on the following website: www.lrc.gov.ky Unless marked to the contrary, the LRC will assume that comments received are not confidential and that respondents consent to our quoting from, or referring to, their comments and attributing their comments to them, and to the release or publication of their submissions.

Requests for confidentiality or anonymity will be respected to the extent permitted by the Freedom of Information Law, 2007.
