Island Heritage Charity Drive

header_no_glowWhat is CharityDrive?

CharityDrive is an innovative and exciting sponsorship programme by Island Heritage Insurance that takes place over three days each spring. Each year, Island Heritage will donate up to CI$35,000 in direct donations shared between three local charities.

The amount of money donated by Island Heritage to each charity depends on the level of support and involvement from the community. CharityDrive is a fun way for you to get involved and actively support worthwhile local causes.

Heritage RoundaboutCharityDrive 2013 will take place over three days in April:

heritageDo I actually have to donate cash to the charities?

No. Island Heritage will donate on your behalf- all you have to do during CharityDrive is drive by the Island Heritage Roundabout, click ‘Support’ on the Island Heritage Facebook page or mention @charitydriveky on Twitter.

How can I get involved with CharityDrive and support Cayman charities?

Three easy ways – each one will trigger a CI$1 donation from Island Heritage. During CharityDrive:

Drive by the Island Heritage Roundabout

Click ‘Support’ on the Island Heritage Facebook page

Mention @charitydriveky on Twitter

Simply do the same on each CharityDrive day to support all three charities!

Island Heritage will donate up to a maximum of CI$35,000 in total.

New for 2013, Island Heritage is offering a $5,000 bonus to the charity that generates the most Facebook Support clicks and Twitter mentions for CharityDrive on their designated day, so one charity could earn as much as CI$15,000 in total. The final amount donated to each charity is entirely dependent on the level of the community’s support.

The more cars driving by the Island Heritage Roundabout, the more ‘Support’ clicks on the Island Heritage Facebook page and the more Tweets @charitydriveky on each CharityDrive day, the more Island Heritage will donate, up to CI$35,000 in total. It’s up to you Cayman – get behind CharityDrive and show your support for local charities!

The Island Heritage Roundabout is on the Esterley Tibbetts Highway, close to the Ritz Carlton Hotel – see attached map

If I drive by the Roundabout more than once on each CharityDrive day, will the charity receive CI$1 each time?

Yes. Island Heritage will donate CI$1 for every car that drives by the Roundabout during CharityDrive. Traffic sensors provided by the National Roads Authority are placed on road lanes in both directions at the Island Heritage Roundabout, and every time a car drives over one of the sensors, Island Heritage will donate CI$1 to that day’s charity.

Do I actually have to drive around the Roundabout?

No. You only have to drive by, in a straight direction. Driving around the Roundabout won’t trigger an additional donation.

Traffic sensors provided by the National Roads Authority are placed on road lanes in both directions at the Island Heritage Roundabout during CharityDrive. These give Island Heritage accurate numbers of cars driving by and the results are posted on www.charitydrive.ky
