International Stand Up to Bullying-Pink Shirt Day

School-Bullies-02-300x224Name of Event:          International Stand Up to Bullying-Pink Shirt Day

Date(s) of Event:       31 May 2013

Time of Event:                       All Day

Location of Event:     Island-Wide (Schools, businesses, everyone!)

Purpose, details or description of event:

Picture5Everyone is encouraged to purchase shirts that say “STOOD UP” or at least where pink shirts on the 31 May. The color of the STAND UP pledge shirts is based on a campaign started by Travis Price and David Shepherd, two senior students who took a stand against a freshmen student being bullied for wearing a pink shirt. This act of leadership provides a great example for those who are “on the fence” about displaying their own personal stance against bullying. We want Cayman to be a place where dignity is non-negotiable and people can go to school, work and home and feel safe. Bullying is everyone’s problem and it’s time Cayman STOOD Up.
