Maths is one of the most fascinating subjects. Still, there are many students who did not like or fear Mathematics. Maybe, they find it a little bit difficult to understand. This is probably because the basics are not clear. Insufficient practice is one of the reasons for students to develop reluctance towards Mathematics. Most of the students who do not practice regularly, find Maths to be a tough nut to crack. Every person is different and different people have different talents, interests, and strengths. Not everyone can become a world-class player, nor can everyone become an all-state-level champion. But it does not mean that if you weren’t born with the ability to solve maths problems in just a few seconds then you can’t become a math Olympian. Regular practice and dedicated learning can convert some from completely confused solvers into top-level competitors. Mathematics helps us to grow reasoning power, imaginativeness, problem-solving abilities, and critical thinking.

To prepare for the class 6 Olympiad, you need to be aware of the syllabus well. Maths Olympiad consists of a set of preliminary material that includes questions on various topics such as factors & multiples, triangles & elementary, integers, number system data handling, and so on. Olympiad Maths problems need students to think in different ways. The problems seem tricky while reading, but if the question is split into many sections, students may be in a better spot to understand the question. And when students easily understand the question, it becomes easy to find out the solution.  Well, Olympiad exams are based on the existing school curriculum, most of the questions focus on an in-depth understanding of the topic. Previous year’s question paper set and workbooks consist of general questions from the exam point of view. While practising from workbooks it is a good practice to make your own notes. Start with chapter-wise questions and make it a point to understand the concept of each and every question. By doing each and every question and understanding each concept will allow you to have a better grasp of the question pattern.

To solve the Olympiad Maths problem students need to develop deep concentration towards concepts. Students need to know what is actually asked in the question and then thoroughly understand it and then reach the correct answer. A thorough analysis of questions is important to find the correct answer.

Keeping track of the time that students take to solve a question is very important as this exam is time-based and the time given to solve the number of questions is very less. Therefore students must solve questions with a stopwatch. This will help them track the time they are taking to solve the questions and the amount of time they are given to solve the questions. Comparing these values, students can practice with a goal to take the minimum time to solve concepts.

The important point to remember to score high in the Olympiad exam is to make notes while reading for Olympiad preparation material. After completing, understanding, and reading the preparation material, start with topic-wise questions or tests. In this way, you’ll get to analyze your strong and weak areas which could be extremely helpful for further practice. Solving a large number of questions will make them used to the variety of questions that the students will encounter in the exam. In the exams, the pressure doesn’t allow the students to solve the questions they haven’t encountered before and in trying to solve them, Students often make mistakes. Solving this variety of questions will make ur easier for them to encounter these questions if they come into the exam.

Make a timetable and stick to it. Manage your time well and practice each type of question. Sticking to a timetable helps the students in having discipline in their life and this discipline helps them in preparing for the olympiad every day. The continuous practice keeps them in touch with the concepts on a regular basis and thus their hold on the concepts gets stronger with time.
