Helen Harquail is 100
Helen Harquail celebrated her 100th birthday at a private party in her honour at the Cayman Islands National Gallery on Saturday Dec. 1st.
Although she is a founding member of the National Trust and a National Gallery board member, it is the Harquail Theatre that she also founded, donated all the money for its construction, and bears her late husband’s name (“F.J. Harquail Theatre) she is more famously known.
She also donated four acres of land to The National Gallery upon which the Gallery now stands.
The F.J. Harquail Exhibition Hall is also named in honour of Mrs Harquail’s late husband.
I have known Helen for many years and we became good friends.
I personally wish her many more years of good healthy life.
