Fatal road crash – Victim named

The man who died following a road crash in West Bay on Sunday, 7 July, can be named as Steve Andrew Powery, aged 57 years.

The rider of the motorcycle, a 24-year-old man, remains in the Cayman Islands Hospital in a critical but stable condition.

A police enquiry into the circumstances surrounding the crash is ongoing. Anyone who was in the area around 12.40am on Sunday and witnessed the crash, or has any information which could assist the investigation, is asked to contact the RCIPS Traffic Management Unit on 946-6254.

Fatal MVA –  Hell Road, West Bay

At 0040 HRS on Sunday 7 July 2013 police and ambulance responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident in the vicinity of Club Inferno between a motor cycle and a bicycle.

The pedal cyclist succumbed  to his injuries and the Motor Cyclist, received injuries and was transported to the George Town Hospital.

Matter under investigation by West Bay Police.
