Thursday, 6th May 2015 – Kingston, Jamaica: The best players in the world, including Messi, Neymar, Suarez, Sanchez as well as Caribbean Champions the Reggae Boyz will be featured on Digicel SportsMax this and next summer in the Copa America 2015 and Copa America 2016. This summer Digicel SportsMax takes fans to Chile, via its two channels, to witness Caribbean football champions, the Reggae Boyz up against the likes of Brazil, Argentina and South America’s best in the Copa America 2015.

On the back of the exclusive broadcast of the Mayweather v Pacquiao boxing event, the Caribbean’s premier sports broadcasters, Digicel SportsMax, today announced that they have retained the broadcast rights for the Copa America 2015. The tournament begins June 11 and goes through to July 4. Digicel SportsMax also aired the competition in its two previous installments in 2007 & 2011 and will air the Copa America Centenario in 2016.

The competition kicks off on June 11 at 7:30pm with host country Chile’s opening bid for the title, going up against Ecuador. The action then speeds up on June 13 at 3:00pm as the Reggae Boyz face their first challenge against defending champions Uruguay featuring Luis Suarez, the competition’s most successful team with 15 Copa championships to date.

Digicel SportsMax Caribbean marketing manager Tanya Lee believes the Copa America 2015 will be the highlight of the summer, “The Copa America takes place when our club football season winds down and just in time for when football fans are looking for that summer fix. Undoubtedly with the Caribbean’s love for football, powerhouses like Brazil and Argentina, and with the participation of the Jamaica and Mexico teams from CONCACAF, we anticipate a record Caribbean viewership for this event.”
