Dart Cayman launches Growing Communities website

Growing-Communites-logo1Dart Cayman is pleased to announce that our new Growing Communities website www.growingcommunities.ky is now live.

Inspired by Ken Dart’s affinity for natural landscapes and opening gathering spaces, the Growing Communities park initiative is a public-private partnership between the Cayman Islands Government and Dart Cayman Islands that facilitates the restoration, development and maintenance of public community parks in Grand Cayman.

The new site provides a comprehensive overview of the 5 District Parks, the 6 Neighbourhood Parks and many of Cayman’s other open spaces. It provides maps and directions; hosts photo galleries; shares photography and event planning information and has a blog – soon to be filled with fun, community-focused posts. We also have an area called FRIENDS and this is where we have listed links and information for other related sites.

We thought you, as well as the supporters of iNews would be interested to learn about the launch of the Growing Communities website and we hope you find it useful, either as a personal resource or as an information tool for visitors to Cayman. Perhaps you could share a link to our site on your site – if you do please let us know and we will send you a jpeg of our Growing Communities logo to put with it.

In the future we are hoping to post images, which park guests submit in our galleries. If you ever want to contribute a post and image for our blog we would love to get that as well. We think that your site is a great informant for all people of the islands and we really do hope that you will find time to become active partners with the new site.

Please see the following press release (from July 2013) below for more information:

Dart announces Growing Communities website

In July Dart Cayman Islands launched growingcommunities.ky – the Growing Communities website featuring complete information about the public district and neighbourhood parks in Grand Cayman. Visitors to the new website will find facts about each park including maps, directions, photo galleries, event planning information and a blog filled with fun, community-focused posts.

Ken Hydes, Vice President of Place Management and Experiences at Dart, comments “We’re excited and proud to launch this website and share this important information with Cayman residents and visitors. These public parks are a testament to what can happen when communities and community-minded individuals get involved. When people work together countless things can be accomplished that enrich our lives in many ways.”

Growing Communities is a public-private partnership between Dart Cayman Islands and the Cayman Islands Government that facilitates the restoration, development and maintenance of public community parks in Grand Cayman. The Growing Communities park initiative grew from Ken Dart’s affinity for natural landscapes and open gathering spaces that inspire and bring people together. Today, Growing Communities is committed to Cayman through its continual support and enhancement of these public open spaces.
